The Entrepreneur Wales Awards | Celebrating entrepreneurship in Wales
Regarded as the benchmark for entrepreneurial success in Wales, the Awards celebrate the contributions and innovations of Welsh entrepreneurs and their impact on the Welsh economy.
What an evening, the IMAGINARIANS dug out their best bib and tucker and were ready to hit the awards. A star-studded event and a few bottles of bubbly. What more could you want?
Needless to say, we were delighted to win the Creative Industries Entrepreneur of the Year Category sponsored by S3 Advertising and presented by Matt Jones. After a short interlude, it was time for the main award of the evening the Welsh Entrepreneur of the Year sponsored by Carbon Law Partners. By this time the drinks were flowing so when they called out our name we were blown away. What an evening two awards which we are very proud of. The following is taken from the Entrepreneur Wales Awards website. We were so pleased with the judges' comments we decided to share them with you.
Hosted by Wynne Evans, the awards Acknowledged the hard work and inspiring journeys of entrepreneurs in Wales, 16 awards were won by well deserving entrepreneurs, judged by a panel of previous winners Andy Ling, Darren Thomas and Just Eat CEO David Buttress and successful entrepreneur GoCompare founder Hayley Parsons CBE, author and TV presenter Lyndon Wood and serial investor Ashley Cooper.
Darren Crockett, managing director and founder of DO Digital Realities, had a successful evening, winning both ‘Creative Industries Entrepreneur of the Year’ and ‘Welsh Entrepreneur of the Year’.
Speaking about Darren and his journey as an entrepreneur, one of the judges said: “I love this story – a truly creative entrepreneur, creativity always comes first but Darren has managed to build a serious business from his passion and has enthused many others in doing so.”
Other comments from the judges included: “Clearly a passionate innovator here – the story is slightly quirky – I like that – it shows a different way of looking at the world…”
“The end product is of real quality and inspiration and this business needs to be recognised for its creativity and passion.”
“This entry is all about entrepreneurship: it is innovative and the firm is about creating and developing opportunity in market (this is not a me too organisation) – the firm has capacity to grow…so has scale-able value, I especially like the fact that the team are well grounded.”
These awards have given us a tremendous boost and we look forward to sharing our success with our customers. More champagne please...
